Abstract

As emergent technology often is defined by innovation, or ‘untested’ methodology, what are the legal, ethical and moral implications for new adoption in the use of AI, machine learning and operation, diagnosis and detection of diseases through the use of technology.

In terms of liability, where does the onus lie? Is patient consent enough? How do we balance the conversation on discovering breakthrough discoveries, risk taking and risk mitigation.

My presentation is going to focus on the COVID19 and post COVID19 world, on possible lessons that we have learnt and also how and whether a more innovative approach to medicine can further our progress in discovering breakthrough medicine.
